Matthew W. Brown was born in Austin, Texas, and grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He graduated from Baylor University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a minor in History. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law in 2004.
